    Overview

The year 2023 brought many changes to the U.S. healthcare landscape: Millions were disenrolled from Medicaid after the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are beginning to be employed by providers and payers. After years of being relatively flat, healthcare premiums began rising significantly again. No-cost preventative care under the Affordable Care Act came under legal threat.

Meanwhile, 2024 raises many questions: Will the overall uninsured rate rise due to the Medicaid unwinding? Is telemedicine here to stay, and if so, how will it be tweaked for the long-term? How will the Kaiser-Geisinger Health merger pan out? What new changes will be brought to the reproductive healthcare landscape change? And perhaps the most important question: How will the results of the presidential election shape healthcare policy?
